I work with a range of media including, printmaking, fibers, and ceramics.  Spending a majority of my life in northern Minnesota surrounded by nature, elements of the natural world seep into my pieces.  Creating satirical imagery from mythologies by combining human figures with nature and textures is my conceptual interest. Making connections between stories from the past and the current world are themes that I enjoy working with as well.  While I like to work with stories I also like to look at things up close to find interesting details. Recently I’ve become interested in spiders and fish and how they live their lives. A result of this is a need to incorporate an aquatic element to my pieces like growths of plant/egg-like forms on ceramic with a highly glossy glaze.
